“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” - Virginia Woolf
Rang Mahal Table Restaurant
Singapore
2010

Celebrating the Indian culinary style, the kitchen of this contemporary-chic Indian restaurant is designed as a black lacquered jewellery box that allows the theatrical live cooking action to sit boldly amidst retail boutiques. It is done by highlighting the natural solid granite block with a built-in tandoor oven which elevates the grandiosity. Thus, attracting the eyes of the city’s giltest of edge.

The dining platform sits spectacularly above the canal, overlooking passing gondolas and glittering water. Custom designed parsley ornates the space, largely-scaled and stained onto the floors drawing attention onwards to the atrium, as well as the ambient-adapting bar counters as a common language. Majestic jewel tones of a peacock feather decks the space which is then framed with oversized lanterns along the corners.
